Space for Gardening!!! It’s part of Sustainability. It’s part of the Green lifestyle.
An Angel sent me an email and asked about space for Gardening.
That is interesting that you don’t think I’ve planned for enough space for gardening. That is my fault. I apologize because I thought it was obvious that practically the whole 100+ acres sight would be dedicated to gardens!!!
Because of your advice I’ll dedicate a new page to Gardening on the Extreme Green Village site!!! You are great!!!
The whole property will be a Community Garden!
650 Storage Units
There are the roofs on the 650 storage buildings on the site. That’s 12 times 24 times 650. That’s 4.3 acres!!!
Veggie Producing, shade giving Arbors
There are 7 acres of walkways and 15-22 acres of driveways and roads and parking on the property. (I don’t know how accurate this is, as far as roads. It depends what businesses we will have on the site and other considerations.)
In this case I want to first have shade giving arbors growing all over the walkways. (Grapes? Melons? Those long green beans?) That’s 7 acres of gardening.
All the parking areas I want to have arbors too.
Remember this would all be done once the Extreme Green Village is fully populated, but arbors over every roadway, 15 feet high so trucks can come and go. That could be up to 15 acres of arbors.
Coop Member Units!
And we haven’t even talked about the Coop Members units! I can’t say what the number of units will be accurately. But at least 40-50 acres will be comprised of: Front yards facing the common arbor covered pedestrian walkway. The private roof-top areas. And the private backyards.
Of course some people will want to design their private roof-top and back yard and front yard as they will like. And of course that will be their right, but most of them will either grow a garden themselves or make it available for a systematized Coop usage of their sun-space. (Do you like sun-space, as a description? I do.)
Garage-workspace
And we haven’t talked about the Coop Members who want to have a garage workspace behind their home unit.
What about the Town Center?
That will be at least 10 acres of rooftop and arbor covered walkways! They will either be container grown green house/gardens or solar arrays.
So let’s add up the acreage.
When fully finished that would be up to 29 acres of shaded, produce growing arbors!!
When fully finished that would be up to 57 acres of produce growing sun-space!!!
That’s up to 86 acres of produce creating gardens!!
If the Extreme Green Village site is 120 acres
That would be 34 more acres that could be sports fields, hike and bike trails, a pitch and put golf course and the permaculture lake!
After those facilities, there may still be more room for even more produce creating gardens!
So thank you, Angel, for your question.
Sincerely, if anyone reading this has any thoughts, email me. And please, Angel, do it again!!!

PS If you can help spread this idea of this Extreme green Village, I would appreciate it.
